Liz Forkel

Liz Forkel
Owner and Founder

Known for her energy, enthusiasm, and ability to make fitness fun, Liz has built her career on a simple belief: fitness is about far more than exercise—it’s about people.

As the driving force behind LizFit, Liz created more than a studio—she built a community. Long before “community” became a fitness buzzword, Liz was fostering an environment where people feel supported, connected, and genuinely excited to show up. She believes everyone deserves to feel seen, welcomed, and encouraged, and she works hard to ensure that every person who walks through her doors experiences exactly that.

Personal training has become a cornerstone of LizFit’s success. Liz takes the time to truly understand each client’s goals, challenges, and lifestyle, creating personalized programs that deliver meaningful, lasting results. She believes strong relationships lead to real progress, and her greatest reward is seeing clients feel stronger, healthier, and more confident than they ever thought possible.

Her impact extends well beyond the studio. In 2010, Liz founded Spinning Generosity, an annual charitable fitness event built on the idea of bringing people together to make a difference. What began as a small local fundraiser has grown into a powerful community tradition, raising more than $1 million for Seacoast charities and supporting countless individuals and families in the region.

Liz’s leadership and dedication have earned widespread recognition, including WZID’s 20 Outstanding Women, the PPMTV Inspiration Award, the Mayor’s Award and Key to the City, and the Rising Tide Award. She has also been voted Best Personal Trainer for nine consecutive years and led LizFit to Best Fitness Center honors in 2025.

In 2022, Liz completed the entire Appalachian Trail, hiking more than 2,000 miles over six months—a challenge that reflects the perseverance, resilience, and positive mindset she brings to her clients and her community every day.

Whether she’s leading a class, coaching a client, or bringing people together for a greater cause, Liz remains committed to helping others discover their strength and building a healthier, more connected community.
